Probation ordered for Lockpor drug dealer who faces other charge

LOCKPORT – Cedric L. Elias was placed on five years’ probation Friday on his guilty plea to selling cocaine but still faces another felony indictment accusing him of passing a forged check.

Elias, 33, of Robinson Road, Lockport, drew the probation term from Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon for fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance in connection with a cocaine deal in the Town of Lockport June 7, 2013. Elias was given six months of interim probation and impressed his probation officer with his cooperation.

However, earlier this month Elias was indicted on a charge of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument for allegedly passing a forged check at a Lockport auto repair shop Dec. 28, 2010. He has pleaded not guilty to that charge.
