In one more sign of spring, the Buffalo & Erie County Naval & Military Park will open at 10 a.m. Saturday 28 for its 36th season.
There will be an official ceremony to mark the opening at 6:15 p.m. on the first floor of the museum building next to the Liberty Hound restaurant. It will include the presentation of colors and the singing of the national anthem in front of 100-year-old Albert Sillato, a Clarence resident who is a retired Navy petty officer who served in World War II, and a group of Boy Scouts taking part in an overnight encampment program.
The park will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Oct. 31.
