One of the region’s food trucks is making the leap to a permanent location.
Macarollin’ will open a store in the food court at Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls next to Auntie Anne’s Pretzels. The restaurant is waiting for a building permit to begin a six-week construction of the space and expects to be open by the end of May. The menu offers 25 kinds of macaroni and cheese as well as six kinds of gourmet hot dogs.
Macarollin’ is owned by Peter Causyn, who started the company as a food truck-based business in Rochester in 2012 before rolling it out in Buffalo in 2013 and then Syracuse. Its first store location opened in Rochester on Black Friday. Macarollin’ now has store locations at Eastview Mall and Marketplace Mall in Rochester. Buffalo will be its third store.
Since opening, Causyn has franchised the New York State rights to the truck operations to Rochester-based franchisee Chuck Andrews.
