Teresa Schwertfeger, 44, of Clarence was charged with driving while impaired on drugs after causing a chain reaction car accident Wednesday afternoon on Main Street, State Police said.
Authorities said Schwertfeger struck a car stopped at a traffic light on Main Street. That car then hit another vehicle that was also stopped at the light.
Troopers interviewed Schertfeger and noticed she appeared to be under the influence of narcotics. Schwertfeger was transported to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital complaining of neck pain. A trooper trained as a drug recognition expert also responded to the hospital to evaluate Schwertfeger.
She was arrested and transported to the State Police Barracks on Main Street in Clarence. She was charged and ticketed for drugged driving and following too closely. Schwertfeger is to appear in the Town of Clarence Court on April 2nd to answer all charges.
