Cappellino Buick GMC buys Emerling Chevy in Boston

Cappellino Buick GMC is expanding its inventory and geography by buying Emerling Chevrolet in Boston. The Clarence dealership will now have a Southtowns location and sell Chevrolets.

The family owned-company acquired the dealership’s assets March 17. The acquisition adds 63 full- and part-time employees to the company, bringing its total to 130.

Steve Cappellino, company president, said the acquisition “complements the Buick GMC store we have in the Northtowns. Chevrolet is the largest market share in the area, and I always wanted to be a Chevrolet dealer.”

Emerling was a family owned business that opened in 1944 on Boston Road. The name has now been changed to Cappellino Chevrolet.

“The Emerling family is an iconic family, and they really made a name for themselves,” Cappellino said. “We feel very honored to be stepping into their shoes. We hope to deliver the same level of customer service and continue to build the brand.”
