Vehicles broken into on Pine Avenue

NIAGARA FALLS – Two vehicles parked in the 2600 block of Pine Avenue were broken into Wednesday night. In each case the victim had left a purse behind which was stolen.

A vehicle parked at the Janet Dunstan dance studio, at 2601 Pine Ave., had its passenger window smashed between 8:30 and 9:50 p.m. Wednesday night.

The victim said this is the second time in less than a month that a vehicle parked in the lot has been targeted.

The 67–year–old victim said when she returned to her vehicle she found the passenger side window was smashed. A gray purse with a floral pattern was stolen. Inside was a gray wallet with $85 cash and credit cards. Total loss $635.

A second larceny was reported at 10 p.m. while the owner of the vehicle was inside the Subway Restaurant at 2608 Pine Ave.

The 37–year–old victim said someone went into the vehicle and took her cell phone and a purse which contained her credit card, social security card and medication.
