Over $7,000 worth of band equipment stolen in Pendleton

PENDLETON – The rear hatch of an SUV was opened overnight and various electrical components, as well as a $2,500 guitar amplifier, were reported stolen on Thursday morning.

Niagara County sheriff’s deputies found at least two sets of footprints and believe at least two unknown persons may have been involved in the larceny, which happened between 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and 6:30 a.m. Thursday in the 7100 block of Creekbend Drive.

The victim told deputies the SUV was in his driveway locked. Deputies found no signs of forced entry and the latch appeared to be working.

The victim said in addition to the amplifier, a $2,400 peddle board, a guitar stand, a vertical cabinet and other electrical components were missing from the bay area of the SUV. Total loss $7,100.

The victim said his hatch was found ajar on the morning of Feb. 26, but nothing was taken.

A neighbor in the 7100 block told deputies $20 in change was taken from the center console of his unlocked vehicle.
