LOCKPORT – A Lockport man faces additional felony charges for drunken driving while transporting two small children this past weekend on South Transit Road.
The driver, Jack C. Staples, 24, was stopped Sunday by New York State police who reported that he had a blood alcohol level of .15 percent, nearly twice the legal limit of .08 percent. He was also charged with speeding and with having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.
Staples was charged with driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle, a class E felony.
He was arraigned in Town of Lockport Court with bail set at $500 cash or $1,000 bond.
