The Ken-Ton School Board has called a special meeting for April 8 to consider implementing a boycott of standardized testing for grades 3-8.
State testing at the elementary/intermediate level begins April 14, with the Grades 3–8 English Language Arts assessments. The School Board on Tuesday voted unanimously to "seriously consider" refusing to administer the tests until some state aid issues are resolved. In response, the state Education Department has threatened to remove the board from office.
The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a proposed executive session followed by the public session at 6:30 p.m. The venue is the Philip Sheridan building community room, 3200 Elmwood Ave.
