Federation Boys Class B semifinal: Park vs. Westhill

What: New York Federation Tournament of Basketball Champions

When: 1 p.m. Saturday at University at Albany

NYS Sportswriters Rankings: Westhill No. 1, Park No. 5.

How they got here: Park defeated defending champion Regis of New York City for the state Catholic title, 48-40. Defending Federation champion Westhill beat Woodlands, 70-62, in NYSPHSAA final.

Park starters/key reserves: 6-3 senior Derek Cheatom, 5-10 junior Kyle Harris, 6-6 junior Jordan Nwora, 6-3 sophomore Hunter Anderson, 6-8 freshman Joe Jones, 6-5 senior Randy Golda.

Westhill key players: 6-1 senior Jordan Roland, 6-5 senior Tyler Reynolds, 5-8 Ryan Roland, 6-1 senior Brian Daley, 5-11 senior Jeff Lobello.

Skinny on Westhill: Technically in a western suburb of Syracuse, Westhill has a Syracuse mailing address. Longtime Section III title contender and state title contender.

Scouting report: George Washington signee Jordan Roland is the total package and will command defensive attention from Park. Roland, a 6-1 guard, can drive to the basket and also can let it rip from beyond the arc. Warriors have some inside size with 6-5 Tyler Reynolds. He can also play at the arc.

What’s next: Winner advances to the 4 p.m. Sunday championship game against either PSAL-Maspeth or AISAA-Dwight School.
