No injuries as school bus crashes into house in Cheektowaga

Eight students, ages 6 to 12, from various local charter schools escaped with no injuries when their Carrier Coach school bus crashed into a house on Raymond Avenue near Downer Place in Cheektowaga just after 4 p.m. Tuesday.

James Speyer, assistant Cheektowaga chief of police, said the students, who had been attending a function together, were turned over to their parents at the scene. The bus driver also was not injured. Speyer said. The cause of the crash and the damage to the house were being assessed Tuesday evening.
