Michael J. Ingham, a local lawyer, died March 16 in his Williamsville home. He was 49.
Born in Fallbrook, Calif., he was raised in Niagara Falls and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. In 1987, Mr. Ingham earned a bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University, where he was captain of the hockey team.
Mr. Ingham graduated from Albany Law School in 1990, after which he went to work as an assistant district attorney in Suffolk County. He also worked as an assistant attorney general in the New York State Attorney General’s Office on Long Island.
In 2003, Mr. Ingham returned to Niagara County, where he was an assistant district attorney. He later established a private practice, working as a criminal-defense attorney and civil litigator. He was a member of the Erie and Niagara county bar associations.
Surviving are a son, Matthew; his parents, John J. and Henrietta; two brothers, John and Paul; and two sisters, Nancy Ditzel and Mary Kathryn Willhelm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. April 18 in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls.
