Idea conference scheduled Monday

Western New York’s only TED-style idea conference for young people, TEDxYouth@Buffalo, will bring community leaders and visionaries to Mildred Campbell Social Hall at SUNY Buffalo State from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday. TED is an acronym for Technology Entertainment Design.

Eight young innovators will be featured, including teen entrepreneur Zandra Cunningham, a student at Nardin Academy; and teen break dancer Julian Love, a student at Buffalo Center for Arts and Technology.

Other speakers include University at Buffalo student Tom Dreitlein, a poetry slam champion; Charles “Chuckie” Cunningham, a rapper and professor at Bryant & Stratton College; and Buffalo Common Council Majority Leader Demone Smith, who is hosting the conference.
