St. Bonaventure extended its baseball winning streak to eight on Tuesday, coming from four runs down to defeat Niagara, 8-7, in 10 innings Tuesday in Lewiston. The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was called because of darkness after eight innings with the teams tied, 1-1.
Alex Schutz opened the 10th inning with a walk, moved to third on a single by Tyler Walter and scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly by Cole Peterson. Tony Firenzi homered for Niagara.
The University at Buffalo (5-12) scored three times in the 11th inning and defeated Canisius, 8-5 at the Demske Complex. Nick Sinay had three hits for the Bulls, who got their runs in the 11th with the benefit of just one hit, a leadoff single by Charlie Sobieraski. Ben Hartz picked up the win for UB with two shutout innings.
