Wegmans recalls organic spinach

Wegmans has issued a recall of certain packages of its organic spinach out of concern it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The grocer received a call from its supplier, Washington-based Twin City Foods, about the possible contamination.

The affected product was sold under the Wegmans Organic Food You Feel Good About brand in 12-ounce bags. The recalled bags will have a UPC number of 77890-32932 and a “best used by” stamp reading Jan.26.2017, 50265 or Feb.02.2017, 50335. The code is found on the back of the bag.

Anyone who purchased the recalled spinach should return it to Wegmans’ service desk for a full refund. For more information, call Wegmans consumer affairs hotline, 1-855-934-3663 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
