FREDONIA – The State University of New York at Fredonia’s Psychology Club will host the 11th annual Out of the Darkness Walk on Saturday, benefiting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).
Registration for the event will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Lake Shore Savings Clock Tower, on the corner of University Parkway and Symphony Circle. The three-mile walk will begin at noon.
The walk is a fundraising campaign intended to increase awareness of suicide prevention. It is free and open to the community. Those interested can pre-register and donate online at www.outofthedarkness.org until March 27.
“Out of the Darkness” is sponsored by the Psychology Club, Psi Chi honor society, Pride Alliance, the Office of Volunteer and Community Services, Fredonia faculty and staff, and members of the community.
All proceeds will go directly to the AFSP. The organization funds research, creates educational programs, advocates for public policy, and supports survivors of suicide loss.
