MAYVILLE – A 34-year-old Olean man was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail here Monday in lieu of $5,000 bail after State Police arrested him on the I-86 in the Town of Poland. When troopers approached Robert S. Daniels Monday his car was off the road.
Daniels allegedly told troopers he had hit a deer and his car was inoperative. But after tests were conducted, he was found to have a blood-alcohol level of 0.16 percent, twice the state’s legal limit. He was remanded to the County Jail after his arraignment in Poland Town Court on felony DWI due to a prior DWI conviction in the last decade and unlawful possession of marijuana allegedly found in his vehicle.
