Darien Lake Theme Park and Resort is teaming up with the New York State Department of Labor to hold two recruitment events this week to hire more than 1,000 seasonal workers.
They will be from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday in Genesee County Career Center, 587 E. Main St., Batavia; and then from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday in Orleans Center for Workforce Development, 458 West Avenue, Suite 3, Albion.
Darien Lake is looking to fill full- and part-time openings in variety of positions, including in food service, ride operations, lifeguards, retail, information technology, finance, art, hotel/camp accommodations, and housekeeping and maintenance. Candidates should dress professionally and bring a resume. Walk-in applicants are welcome.
The state labor department is organizing the amusement park’s recruitment events, a free service provided to all businesses in the state. Other services include Jobs Express, Gov. Cuomo’s online jobs database, which currently lists more than 100,000 openings. According to the labor department, businesses can save up to $12,000 on recruitment event, up to $20,000 on customized job fairs and up to $6,000 on job positions by using its free services.
