Buffalo driver arrested in I-190 road rage incident

A 46-year-old Buffalo pickup truck driver was arrested by the State Police Monday on a felony charge related to an alleged road rage incident on the Niagara Thruway last week.

On the I-190 northbound near Clinton Street about 2 p.m. Thursday, police said, James J. Woelfle allegedly stopped his vehicle and threw a heavy object at the window of another vehicle.

Woelfle is charged with a class D felony count of first-degree reckless endangerment which carries a possible prison term of up to seven years. He faces arraignment in Buffalo City Court Tuesday. State Police said their investigation of the incident is continuing and anyone with information about it may contact State Police Investigator John McCusker at 716-935-6570.
