Bumper left behind after roadside mailboxes are destroyed

NORTH TONAWANDA – A three-foot long section of front bumper provided police with some clues Friday as to what type of vehicle was involved in the destruction of several mailboxes along Bear Ridge Road.

Four mailboxes were destroyed between 6913 and 6930 Bear Ridge Road in the early morning hours Thursday, sheriff’s deputies said, but the offending driver fled the scene, leaving behind the telltale section of bumper. Deputies are continuing to investigate. They said damage in the incident exceeded $300.
