Combine stats: 40-yard dash: 4.95 seconds. Bench press: 19 reps. Vertical jump: 32 inches. Broad jump: 9 feet, 7 inches. 3-cone drill: 7.25 seconds. 20-yard shuttle: 4.33 seconds.

Career stats: 54 games, 183 tackles (91 solo), 25.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, one interception, five passes defensed

Draft projection: Fifth round.

Lowdown: Old-school, run-stuffing linebacker who compares to Bills unrestricted free agent Brandon Spikes. … A second-team All-Big Ten selection as a senior. … Has an NFL-ready frame, with long arms and good closing speed. Considered one of the more physical players in the draft, Jones is a hard hitter who switched to middle linebacker as a senior and became one of the Spartans’ team leaders. … Has to prove to NFL teams he’s got the instincts and coverage ability to be more than a part-time player.
