A 47-year-old Amherst man was arrested for drunken driving early Thursday after several people noticed sparks coming from the tireless rim of his car, Orchard Park police reported.
When police stopped the vehicle on Milestrip Road near Ferndale Drive about 1:20 a.m., they noticed heavy front end damage and no tire on the driver’s side wheel.
Tony Littles, 47, of Amherst failed field sobriety tests, police said. His blood alcohol content level was recorded at .18, more than twice the legal limit.
Littles was charged with DWI and aggravated DWI, and was released on $200 bail to his wife.
West Seneca police assisted in the investigation.
