Live from the Atlantic Hockey semifinals: Robert Morris vs. Mercyhurst; Canisius vs. RIT

ROCHESTER -- It's down to the final four in Atlantic Hockey and semifinal Friday at Blue Cross Arena.

The first semifinal features No. 1 seed and defending champion Robert Morris against No. 5 seed Mercyhurst. Canisius, the No. 2 seed, will face off against No. 3 RIT one hour after the conclusion of that game.

We broke down the nitty-gritty of the Canisius-RIT game on the BNRinkside Scouting Report. At one time, this looked like a potential first-round matchup but the teams combined to go 24-7-4 since Jan. 9.

Today also featured a look at Canisius defenseman Chris Rumble and his dual identity as hockey player and cancer survivor. He's also part Goofus and Gallant as evident during our outtakes and the video tour of his locker that he gave us earlier this season.

Two of the Top 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Award played at Blue Cross Arena Friday night.

Robert Morris senior Cody Wydo has 41 points (19 goals, 22 assists) in 34 games ranking in the national top 20. He set program records as a junior with 31 goals and 51 points.

RIT senior Matt Garbowsky is tied for second in the country with 26 goals and is tied for fourth nationally with 50 points and has 12 multi-point games this season.
