Another 10th Street Gang member gets long prison term

Desmond Ford, 33, a member of the violent 10th Street Gang on Buffalo’s West Side, was sentenced to a federal prison term of almost 17 years Friday by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph M. Tripi said the 200-month prison term was linked to Ford’s conspiracy conviction under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Operations Act for his role from 2000 to 2010 in the former gang’s frequent acts of violence, firearms possession, and trafficking in marijuana, cocaine, crack cocaine and other illegal drugs on the West Side.

Ford is among 44 members or associates of the 10th Street Gang convicted in the multi-agency state and federal crackdown on its activities, Tripi said.
