Lying to Customs officer draws prison term

A citizen of Canada and the United Kingdom was sentenced Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara to two years in prison for lying about his criminal record.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Marie P. Grisanti said Christian Dean Reid told a U.S. Customs and Border Protection official that he had not previously been arrested when, in fact, he had been arrested and convicted of a drug offense.

His sentencing is the result of an investigation by Customs and Border Protection.
