JAMESTOWN – A 29-year-old Jamestown man was arrested and a 22-year-old woman who had overdosed on heroin was revived after Jamestown police were called by a neighbor about a “disturbance” Wednesday night at a Sturges Street home.
When officers got to the home about 9:30 p.m. they found the woman unresponsive on the floor and revived her by administering a dose of NARCAN. An investigation confirmed that she had used heroin and a further investigation led to the arrest of Richard Philbrick after a quantity of methamphetamine was found inside the home .
Philbrick was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
Jamestown police officials said that without the call of a neighbor Tuesday night the heroin user might have died of her overdose. She was taken by ambulance to WCA Hospital for treatment.
Jamestown Police Capt. Robert Samuelson said anyone with information about illegal sales and trafficking of narcotics anywhere in the Jamestown area is urged to contact the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force anonymous tip line at 483-8477. He said all calls are kept confidential.
