Bulletin Board for March 20

The Amherst Lady Knights recently won the New York State Amateur Hockey Association Girls 14U Tier II championship, which included wins over Troy-Albany, Monroe County, Syracuse and Brewster, culminating in a 5-3 victory over Potsdam in the championship match. The Knights were led in scoring by Amanda Gaffney, Holly Schmelzer, Emma Faso, Jenna Woods and Jenna Piotrowski. Goalie Jenna Lukomski recorded five wins. Amherst will travel to Lansing, Mich., to compete for the national title.

BASKETBALL: The WNY Braves are hosting AAU Basketball tryouts for eighth-grade boys. For more information contact Clinton at 531-5972.

BOOSTER CLUB: The first meeting of the 2015 season for the Buffalo Bills Booster Club is 7:30 p.m. March 31 at Danny’s South restaurant, Abbott Road and Route 20A, across from Ralph Wilson Stadium. The scheduled speaker will be Sal Capaccio, sideline reporter for Bills games. Denny Lynch, former archive director for the Bills, will also be there. FOOTBALL: Nathan Pagan, wide receivers coach at Cortland State, will present a free coaches clinic at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Elks Lodge, 33 Legion Pkwy., Lancaster. All youth, high school and college coaches are invited. Call Chuck Huber at 681-7443.

GOLF: Elma Meadows Women’s Golf Club has a few openings to play in the 2015 season. New members must be able to shoot 70/130 for 9 or 18 holes and play at least seven times during the season, which begins May 7. Tee-off is between 9 and 11:30 a.m. with a blind draw for partners. Dues are $80 for the year plus Erie County golf fees and optional cart. To obtain an application contact Mary Jo Ketchum at elmagolfers@gmail.com. Applications with check for dues must be postmarked no later than March 30.

HOCKEY: The Lockport Express Junior A program has been accepted into the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) at the 16UAAA and 18UAAA levels. The NAPHL operates under the umbrella of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), as does the Express Junior Team. Tryouts are March 31 and April 1 at 9:30 p.m. for 16UAAA, and 10:30 p.m. for 18UAAA at the Cornerstone Arena, 34 Chestnut St., Lockport. The Cazenovia 18U TB hockey team will hold tryouts on March 31 at 9 p.m. and April 1 at 10 p.m. at Cazenovia Park Ice Rink. Tryouts are $10 per night
