YWCA of Niagara and YWCA Tonawandas to announce merger

The YWCA of Niagara and YWCA Tonawandas will announce a planned merger on Friday, with the new organization to be called the YWCA of the Niagara Frontier.

The organizations, which issued a news release Wednesday, said the merger is being made possible by a $175,000 donation over a two-year period from the John R. Oishei Foundation.

The formal announcement will be made at 11 a.m. Friday at Carolyn’s House, 542 Sixth St., Niagara Falls.

The event will also serve as a kick-off to the YWCA of Niagara’s centennial celebration.
