Sully’s Bracket: From Thursday upsets (lots of them) to the Final Four

As he does every year, Jerry Sullivan expounds on his NCAA Tournament selections in today’s preview issue.

Take a tour, region by region:

• Midwest: Picking against UB is a public service

• West: Many a bracket could get busted here

• East: Albany doubles pleasure for SUNY system

• South: Another bracket in which to expect the unexpected

And here’s his final four:

Kentucky (Midwest): Primed to join San Francisco, UCLA and Indiana on the list of programs that have won the national title as an unbeaten.

Wisconsin (West): Driven by Player of the Year candidate Frank Kaminsky and memories of last year’s one-point to Kentucky in the national semifinals.

Michigan State (East): History says to never discount a Tom Izzo team, and his veteran backcourt could make for another unexpected run.

Iowa State (South): Back on the horse after picking Cyclones to win it all last year. If one of the nation’s best offenses keeps clicking, who knows?
