Store worker arrested for selling to underaged drinker

MAYVILLE – A 22-year-old clerk at a Frewsburg liquor store was the only person arrested as New York State Police conducted an underaged-drinker check of 14 stores in Chautauqua County using an underaged drinker-assistant Saturday.

Nathen D. Conrad of Frewsburg was charged after he allegedly sold a bottle of vodka to the 17-year-old decoy at Frewsburg Wine and spirits at 22 W. Main Street. Conrad was charged with prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage to a person under 21 years old. He was issued an appearance ticket for Carroll Town Court proceedings in two weeks. No unlawful sales were made at any of the other 13 Chautauqua County establishments checked, State Police officials said.
