Then and now: Kyle Busch has won the last two races at ACS. He passed older brother Kurt on the final lap of last year’s race, and then held off a last-ditch challenge by rookie Kyle Larson to take the checkered flag in a race that featured a record 35 lead changes. But the younger Busch brother will not be able to go for a third straight ACS win this weekend; he’s likely still at least two more months away from returning from a broken right leg and fractured left foot suffered in a wreck at Daytona on Feb. 21. … Heading into this weekend, which concludes a three-race West Coast swing, Kevin Harvick is riding the biggest hot streak the sport has seen in more than 40 years, having won four of the last seven races (dating back to the end of the 2014 season) and finished runner-up in the other three. … Denny Hamlin has been jinxed at Fontana the last two years. In 2013, he was involved in a wreck that caused a L1 compression fracture in his back, knocking him out for four races. Last year, he missed this race after metal shards somehow were caught in his eye.
