Niagara U. receives grant from Wendt Foundation

The Margaret L. Wendt Foundation has given Niagara University a $150,000 grant to help with construction of a nursing simulation center on its Lewiston campus.

The grant, announced Tuesday, will be used to support upgrades and capital equipment purchases for the lab, which will be housed in Dunleavy Hall.

The center will provide “hands-on” opportunities for students to manage patient encounters and skills in a risk-free, virtual reality environment, while supporting traditional classroom learning and clinical practice experiences, according to the university.

Construction, which began in February, is expected to be completed this spring.
