Graycliff, the waterfront estate in Derby designed by renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, will be featured Friday night on the Travel Channel.
“The Floating Hotel” will be part of Friday’s episode of “Mysteries at the Castle,” which begins at 9 p.m. The segment will focus on Wright’s time in Japan, where he lived and worked immediately before designing the estate, and highlight the elements of Japanese design in Graycliff.
Filming for the segment was done on site last October.
Completed in 1931, the 8.5-acre summer estate along Old Lake Shore Road was designed for Darwin D. Martin and his wife, Isabelle. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a designated New York State Landmark.
