New and gently used prom dresses being collected

The 6th annual Prom Dress Drive hosted by Erie County Legislator Lynne M. Dixon, Ind., Hamburg, and Urban Valet dry cleaners will continue through March 27.

The donated dresses— which will be professionally cleaned, free of charge, by Urban Valet cleaners— are being made available to local high school girls who are in need of a dress for prom or special occasion.

Donors are being asked to drop off either new or gently used dresses at Blasdell Village Hall, 121 Miriam Ave., Blasdell; Boston Free Library, 9475 Boston State Road, Boston; Dudley Branch Library, 2010 South Park Ave., Buffalo; Eden Boys & Girls Club, 8284 North Main St., Eden; Erie County Legislature, 92 Franklin St., Fourth Floor, Buffalo; Hamburg Village Hall, 100 Main St., Hamburg; the Lackawanna Public Library, 560 Ridge Road, Lackawanna; and at the Lake Shore Branch Library, S. 4857 Lake Shore Road, Hamburg.

Donations also may be dropped off at Urban Valet’s three locations: l106 Evans St., Hamburg; 4081 North Buffalo Road, Orchard Park; and 620 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo

After the dresses have been collected and cleaned, Dixon, Urban Valet and Performing Arts Dance Academy in Hamburg will host the Free Shopping Days, inviting area high school girls to choose a dress for the prom. Girls are welcome to select one free dress from 3 to 6 p.m. April 18 or from noon to 3 p.m. April 18 at the Performing Arts Dance Academy, 206 Lake St., Hamburg.
