March 16, 1970: Red Barn adds the 'unusual' to your Lenten menu

With seven Western New York locations, including Main Street across from UB and Sheridan Drive next to Ted’s, Red Barn was one of Buffalo’s more popular fast food joints in the 1970s.

When most of Western New York wasn’t abstaining from meat, the Big Barney and the Barnbuster were two popular burgers at the chain, which disappeared from Buffalo’s culinary landscape in the early 1980s.
