NIAGARA FALLS – A restaurant employee who left behind his backpack filled with six raw tenderloins was charged with theft on Sunday.
Robert W. Carson, 37, of Walnut Avenue, Niagara Falls, was charged with petit larceny just before 10 a.m. Sunday at Augie’s Restaurant at 8207 Niagara Falls Boulevard.
His employer said Carson, who is employed as a cook at the restaurant, left at 8:30 p.m. and another employee found his backpack, which had been left unzipped. The employer said she went to close the backpack and found the six steaks, valued at $35.
He was charged when he returned to work on Sunday.
