Join in the fun at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday as the shortest St. Patrick’s Day parade sets off from Our Lady of Victory Basilica, 767 Ridge Road, for its destination at Lackawanna City Hall, 714 Ridge. Festivities kick off with the celebration of Mass at the basilica at 12:10 p.m.

Grand marshall John West, his wife Sue and their family will lead the parade.

At 1 p.m. the Irish flag will be raised followed by corned beef and cabbage dinners served at two venues: Knights of Columbus – Father Baker Council 2243, 2838 South Park Ave., and V.F.W. Post 898 Col. J. B. Weber, 2909 South Park.

This week:

• The first bulk trash pickup begins Monday and runs through Friday. Appliances, spring-made furniture (couches, etc.), and large furniture will be accepted. No contractor work (drywall, etc.) or tires will be accepted. Televisions and other electronics will no longer be collected with bulk or regular garbage.

• City Council will caucus at 6:30 p.m. Monday in council chambers of City Hall followed by regular meeting at 7 p.m.
