A man and woman who allegedly tried to sell drugs from their vehicle Saturday afternoon were later found with their 7-month-old son in the back seat, Buffalo police reported.
Ferry-Fillmore District officers on patrol were flagged down about 5 p.m. and told the couple were attempting to sell oxycodone, police said.
Terence J. Paulus and Christia L. Sawyer, both of a Frank Avenue address, were stopped in the 1700 block of Broadway, according to a report. Officers Michael Lehner and Patrick McDonald recovered Xanax, heroin and Suboxone from the vehicle, according to a report.
Paulus, 33, and Sawyer, 31, were charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17 and possession of controlled substances outside their original containers.
Paulus was also charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after officers allegedly found 0.8 of a gram of crack cocaine in the passenger side door. He was held for arraignment while Sawyer was released on an appearance ticket.
The child was released to Sawyer’s mother, police said.
