Iran would be obliterated if it launched nuclear bomb

Despite Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent diatribe, Israel in fact has nothing to fear from Iran even if it somehow gets a nuclear bomb. If Iran launched a nuclear missile at Israel, it is unlikely to get though Israel’s Iron Dome defenses. If it did, Israel, which has 70 to 80 nuclear weapons itself, would then bomb Iran, which has no Iron Dome protection.

Tehran and much of the country would be utterly obliterated. Iran’s leaders know this full well. They want nuclear capability – military or industrial – for regional and international prestige, the same reason North Korea feels it needs the atom bomb.
