LOCKPORT – A Newfane couple was arrested for allegedly operating an indoor marijuana-growing site in a Ridge road home that was raided by Niagara County authorities about 6 a.m. Friday.
Michael Berhow, 40, and Tina Krenkel, 37, had been under investigation for some time by the Niagara County Drug Task Force, according to Niagara County Sheriff James R. Voutour. They were both charged with felony counts of second-degree criminal possession of marijuana and a misdemeanor count of unlawful growing of cannabis by an unlicensed person. They face proceedings in Newfane Town Court in two weeks.
The raid was staged by agents of the task force and the Niagara County Emergency Response Team.
