Veronica E. Rosar, nurse, director of convalescent home

March 25, 1919 – March 4, 2015

Veronica E. Rosar, a longtime nurse who was director of the Josephine Goodyear Convalescent Home, died last Wednesday in her Clarence home. She was 95.

Born in Maryland, she was a graduate of South Park High School and graduated from E.J. Meyer Memorial School of Nursing in 1940. She pursued graduate studies as a hospital head nurse at the University of Buffalo.

She was director of the convalescent home and later served as assistant to the director of nursing at Sisters Hospital.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Jo Rosar Stearns; two sisters, Josephine Nowadly and Sister Marie Bernarde; four grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Clarence.
