HoganWillig named Denis A. Scinta of counsel. Scinta previously was with Tully Rinckey. He graduated from the University at Buffalo.


The WNY chapter of the New York State Association of Realtors awarded Dorothy Stahlnecker Smith, an associate real estate broker with MJ Peterson Real Estate, the 2014 Largest Broker-Assisted Sales Transaction recently. Stahlnecker was directly responsible for the coordination and sale of an 875-unit group of multifamily properties, earning her this award and industry recognition. Stahlnecker, a four-time cancer survivor, is a speaker ambassador for Susan G. Komen for the Cure since 2010.


The Mental Health Association of Erie County named Eric M. Soehnlein to its board of directors. Soehnlein is an associate at Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman.


Picone Construction Corp. appointed Kristin Clarco executive assistant and project accountant. Calarco is a graduate of SUNY Fredonia.


The Village Preservation Foundation re-elected William Mattar as president, a position he has held since 2000. Mattar is founder and president of the personal injury firm William Mattar, PC. Other officers: secretary, Trey Measer and treasurer, Al Yates. Directors: Wendy Reynolds, David Sutton and Ellie Grenauer. The Village Preservation Foundation was established in 1999 to inform the public about Western New York culture and history.


Cohen & Lombardo partner James Nash was appointed Hamburg town prosecutor by the Hamburg Town Board and certified by Erie County District Attorney’s Office.

T.L. Cannon Companies of Williamsville, a franchisee of 61 Applebee’s restaurants across New York and Connecticut, was honored by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundations with the 2015 Restaurant Neighbor and Faces of Diversity American Dream award, celebrating charitable service. T.L. Cannon Companies provided nearly $2.5 million in monetary and in-kind donations in 2014 through in-store fundraisers. Recipients of the award receive a $5,000 contribution to continue supporting their charitable initiatives and will be honored at a gala on April 14, during the National Restaurant Association’s Public Affairs Conference in Washington, D.C.


Harbour House Hotel, the Charles Hotel, Shaw Club Hotel and Spa and Colonel Butler Best Western in Niagara-on-the-Lake have installed car-charging stations. Guests can charge their electric cars for free while staying or dining at one of the properties. Each hotel has two charging stations for guests to plug in.
