Morrison elected grand marshal for St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Denice Morrison has been elected to serve as grand marshal of the 2015 Diamond Jubilee St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday along Delaware Avenue, the United Irish American Association of Erie County reports.

Morrison, a UIAA executive committee member and a longtime volunteer worker on the parade, has chosen her husband, John Morrison, chairman of the UIAA executive committee; her sister, Shawn Baumgarden; and her stepchildren, Ayrn and Jason Morrison, as her deputy marshals.

Morrison, a Frontier High School graduate and a former Buffalo Jill, is vice president in the Customer Asset Management Department at M&T Bank. Her husband was grand marshal of the 2007 parade.

The 2015 parade is dedicated to the memory of Scott Burchard, a project engineer with local construction companies, who volunteered as a division marshal and marched in the parade for 15 years with the Blackthorn Club in black top hat and coat.
