BNRinkside: Another week, another top spot for North Dakota in national poll

Very little changed in my ballot for this week's USCHO.com Men's Division I hockey poll. Sure No. 1 North Dakota lost, splitting their weekend series with Miami. But every team in my Top 5 split their weekend series. So we stayed even-steven.

North Dakota is still the favored No. 1 among national voters with 43 first-place votes but Minnesota State (two), Boston University (four) and Michigan Tech (one) are also getting top-spot nods.

The top Hockey East schools were also off as the conference began its playoffs last weekend and the top teams had first-round byes. The only majorĀ changes in my poll were dropping Michigan to No. 19 after the Wolverines were swept by Penn State and bumping St. Cloud State up to No. 18 after the Huskies split with Denver.

Robert Morris stayed at No. 20 in the national poll. They didn't play this week, so they didn't make their way back on my ballot. When last we saw the Colonials they split the final regular season series with last-place Niagara. They get the Purps again this week in the quarterfinal round after Niagara upset Holy Cross. That should be an interesting series.

RIT is also getting votes in the national poll as is Canisius.

  1. North Dakota
