March 9, 1965: Tony Masiello's 23 points leads Dougherty over Mindszenty

Before his office was on the second floor of Buffalo’s City Hall from 1994 to 2005, Mayor Anthony M. Masiello was known as Tony Masiello, and his office was under the hoop.

Drafted by the NBA Indiana Pacers, Masiello stood out for the the Canisius Golden Griffins in college, and before that, for Buffalo’s Cardinal Dougherty High School.

"Dougherty starts fast; Timon dazzles St. Joe"

"Dougherty, with Tony Masiello driving well and Tony Ruggiero complementing him, took the Smith Division's Mindszenty of Dunkirk in stride, 62-43.

"Masiello clicked for 23 points, and Ruggiero had 20 to highlight a fast-break attack."
