Lewiston Planning Board cancels hearing on apartment complex

LEWISTON – The Lewiston Village Planning Board has canceled a public hearing set for Monday night to discuss development plans for Fairchild Place, village officials said.

A new hearing date has not been set.

Fairchild Place, a multimillion, three-story apartment complex, would be built on the site of the former Fairchild Manor nursing home, bordered by Fairchild Place and Onondaga Street. The plan also includes development of five additional properties adjacent to the complex, which would be sold as lots for single-family homes or duplexes.

The new owner, James F. Jerge Jr. of Orchard Park, plans to tear down the former nursing home and build the apartment complex on the site.
