It appears that the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships aren’t coming to Buffalo after all.
Indoorlacrosse.com is reporting that all games in the tournament will be held in the Syracuse area. The First Niagara Center had been announced as the host facility for the semifinals and finals of the tournament, which will take place in September.
The website reported that a letter from the Federation of International Lacrosse said “the provisional Buffalo venue reservation has been released.”
The only hosting venue listed on the event’s website is the Tsha’Hon’nonyen’dakhwa’ Onondaga Nation Arena, which seats 3,000.
A total of 14 teams currently are scheduled to take part in the international event.
