A Clarence Center man was injured Monday morning when he lost control of his SUV and it ended up on its side on the eastbound Youngmann Memorial Highway.
After being rescued by North Bailey Fire Co. volunteers, Michael D. Thore, 43, was taken to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of a head injury, possibly a concussion, according to Amherst Traffic Capt. Patrick McKenna. Thore lost control of his 2010 Honda Pilot just before 7:30 a.m. on the Youngmann, east of the I-990 overpass.
His vehicle drifted off the road and struck a guard rail, causing it to flip on its side, said McKenna, of the Accident Investigation Unit. Two eastbound lanes on the Youngmann were closed, but reopened shortly before 9 a.m.
