Randolph’s Mckenna Maycock, the leading scorer among girls in Section VI basketball, hit her 27 point average on the nose Saturday night, leading the Cardinals (20-2) over Holland, 75-46, for the Class C-2 championship at Jamestown Community College. Maycock also had 12 rebounds, nine assists and four steals.
That set up a rematch of last year’s overall Class C-2 championship game against Chautauqua Lake, which won the showdown game a year ago, 80-42. The overall Class C title game will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Jamestown CC.
Holland scoring star Olivia Schmidt, who averages 23 points a game, had 19 in the loss.
In the Class C-1 final, No. 1 seed, Chautauqua Lake, which lost only to Class A Williamsville North, took the title with a 58-33 win over Salamanca. Ashton Albanesius had 19 points for the Thunderbirds, who have outscored the opposition 178-65, in three sectional playoff games.
Maple Grove defeated Panama in the championship game of the Frewsburg Tournament in December. Since then, though, it’s been all Panthers.
Panama, which swept the Dragons in their CCAA West 2 regular season series, made it three in a row with a 65-35 victory in the Class D championship game at Jamestown Community College.
