Amateur designers will recreate, restyle and recycle clothing from Salvation Army stores for a unique runway show next week.
The Salvation Army will host the ReFashionista Challenge at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Statler City, 107 Delaware Ave. Designers age 13 and older submit a before photo of the items they purchased at the thrift store, then create a design using those materials, which must make up 75 percent of the new garment or ensemble. Each refashioned look will be modeled on the runway at Tuesday’s show.
The event also includes a vintage jewelry sale, a handbag sale and auction, food, music, prizes and gift bags. Tickets are $25. For more information, call 888-6214 or visit BuffaloSalvationArmy.org.
